ABOUT 



Petra Leslie is an award-winning cinematographer known for nuanced visual storytelling. Based in Melbourne, she holds a Master of Cinematography from AFTRS and works across narrative, documentary, video art, and commercial projects.

She was Director of Photography on GORGO, winner of Best Short Film at the 2025 AACTA Awards, and Agoge, which premiered at Palm Springs. Her debut film Sunset Country, written, directed, and shot by Petra, screened at MIFF’s Accelerator Lab. She was Second Unit DoP on The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart (starring Sigourney Weaver). Recently, she undertook PlayLab Patagonia, working with Paolo Sorrentino.

Her documentary and experimental work has screened internationally, including at MIFF, SFF, Short Shorts (Japan), Doc Edge, and CILECT CAPA. She has received Best Cinematography awards for her ability to bring emotional depth to non-fiction storytelling.

Petra also collaborates on installation works exhibited at ACCA, Gasworks, and Carriageworks, blending cinematic form with spatial and sensory experience. Her latest work, Sonido Que Convoca, is currently in post-production.
