ABOUT 

Petra Leslie is an award-winning cinematographer known for her nuanced visual storytelling. Based in Melbourne and Sydney, she earned a Masters of Cinematography from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School. Her early works include "Women Driving," a video piece exhibited in local galleries, and "Sleeping is Difficult," her directorial debut, which premiered at the Human Rights Arts Film Festival.

Petra wrote, directed, and shot "Sunset Country," premiering at the Melbourne International Film Festival as part of the Accelerator program and has been screened at film festivals worldwide. Her work on "Sunset Country" is marked by a distinctive style that blends beauty with the mundane and discomfort. Her thesis film, a contemplation on old age, loss, and grief, showcases her capacity to evoke the cinematic Sublime.

Furthering her career, Petra contributed as the second unit Director of Photography (DoP) on "Lost Flowers of Alice Hart," which won Best Cinematography at the AACTA Awards, affirming her involvement in highly acclaimed projects. She also worked as an operator and satellite unit DoP for a Made Up Stories production and served as a camera operator on "Heartbreak High 2." Petra's extensive portfolio includes long-form content, documentaries, and commercials, underscoring her dedication to the craft of cinematography.
